The Mountain is an ecologically conscious retreat center that has been inspiring people of all ages for more than 30 years with enriching programs, a caring environment and amazing beauty. At 4200 feet, our views span far and wide across the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Our heartfelt mission and daily walk is to embrace the diversity of life and inspire people to work for the common good of peace, justice and environmental stewardship.

Guests of all ages can enjoy an extensive range of activities at The Mountain. We encourage you to explore everything our property has to offer. Take a tour of our farm, enjoy a quiet moment on Meditation Rock, sit in a rocking chair on one of our decks or find a bench by the dwarfed white oak trees - do what relaxes and inspires you. The Mountain offers guests:

• An observation tower that straddles the U.S. Continental Divide, yielding a four-state panoramic view

• High and low ropes challenge initiatives

• On-site hiking trails that lead to waterfalls, valleys, meadows and a lake

• Outdoor meeting spaces including a campfire ring and amphitheater

• A labyrinth for walking meditation

The Mountain is proud to offer handicap accessible lodging and meeting spaces. All indoor meeting spaces, the office and dining hall are accessible and connected by walkways. Wheelchair accessible rooms and cabins with specially-equipped bathrooms are available.
